Monitoring Analysis stock, price and catalogue in figures

Monitoring Analysis turns the Monitored Products grid into the figures a seller checks first: what is in stock, what moved on price, rating and reviews, what the catalogue carries, and what changed on your listings and your competitors'. This guide explains where each figure comes from and how it is worked out.

In the app: /product-monitoring/monitoring-analysis/ Last updated: 31 October 2026

Where the figures come from

The page reads the products on Monitored Products, narrowed by the same Advanced Filters, and three things about each of them:

Latest reading
What the last monitoring run read for the product: price, stock, rating, rank, badges, sellers and media. The stock, catalogue and distribution figures come from it.
First and last reading of the period
The product's earliest and latest monitoring readings inside the period. Every "changed" or "moved" figure compares these two.
Change events
What a monitoring run recorded as different from the product's previous reading. The Recent Changes panels list them.

The top of Monitoring Analysis, drawn with sample data.

  1. The period: a ready-made range from the dropdown, or a range of your own in the box beside it.
  2. Advanced Filters: the Monitored Products page's own filters, saved ones included.
  3. Stock and price movement: the first eight stat cards.
  4. Catalogue: the next eight, what the latest readings carry.

The period and the filters

  • Period is the Advanced Filters' own date range, so the page has one date control. It is the last 7 days unless you pick another: the dropdown beside it writes a rolling range into it (Last 24 hours up to Last 12 months, or All time), and the box takes a range of your own. The longest period is 92 days: a longer range, Last 6 months, Last 12 months and All time read the last 92 days.
  • Previous period is the same number of days straight before it. The line under the page's title names both.
  • Advanced Filters narrow the products exactly as they do on Monitored Products. Trend filters (price trend, BSR trend, Buy Box) are measured over the page's period.

Figures are kept for five minutes for each set of filters, so tabs and table pages open at once. A run that finished in the last few minutes can take up to five minutes to show.

Stat cards

Sixteen cards in two rows. The first row is stock and what moved in the period; the second is what the catalogue carries, from each product's latest reading. Stock states and movement are explained in full in the two sections after this one.

Every card is a button: click it to list the products behind its number, under the row, and click it again to close the list. The list always totals the card, and each of its columns can be filtered. Every list has Units Ordered and opens on it, highest first. Unavailable and Low Stock also list Bought (30 days): Amazon's "bought in past month" as the newest reading of the last 30 days showed it, whatever the period, so an unavailable product still says what it was selling before it went.

Structural Changes

Products whose listing was split, merged, or moved under another parent in the period. Amazon states a variation family, so one reading settles it; reviews are shared across a family, so a figure moving with one is reported as a change of sharing, never as reviews gained or lost.

Stock states

The stock cards and the Stock Status chart put each product in one of three states, read from its latest reading's availability text:

StateWhen
UnavailableThe product was deleted on Amazon, or the text says "unavailable" or "out of stock", or there is no text and the reading said it is not in stock.
Low StockThe text says "left in stock", as in "Only 3 left in stock".
In StockAnything else.

An unavailable product shows no price, rating, reviews, rank or sellers anywhere on the page: Amazon is not selling it, so its last price would mislead. It still counts in Total Products and in the charts' "not rated" and "not priced" counts.

Price, rating and review movement

The four movement cards compare each product's first and last reading of the period:

Price change % = (last price − first price) ÷ first price × 100Rating change = last rating − first ratingReviews gained = last review count − first review countBSR change % = (last rank − first rank) ÷ first rank × 100
  • A lower rank number is a better rank, so a negative BSR change is good news.

A product read once in the period, or whose first and last readings agree, has moved 0 and is in none of the movement cards. Under each of them an arrow compares its count with the same count for the previous period:

vs previous period = (this period − previous period) ÷ previous period × 100
  • Rounded to a whole percent.
  • When the previous period counted 0, the arrow reads 100% if this period counted any, and is left off if it counted none too.

Example: Price Dropped, this week against last week

  1. This week 12 products dropped their price; the week before, 8 did.
  2. (12 − 8) ÷ 8 × 100 = 50

The card reads 12, with an arrow up and 50%.

Distribution charts

The four distribution charts, drawn with sample data.

  1. Stock Status Distribution: the three states as shares of all products.
  2. Rating Distribution: products by whole stars.
  3. Price Range Distribution: five price bands.
  4. Other Sellers Count: how many other sellers are on each listing.
ChartWhere a product is placed
Stock Status DistributionBy its stock state, as a share of Total Products.
Rating DistributionBy its rating rounded to the nearest whole star: 4.5 is 5★ and 4.4 is 4★. Products with no rating are left out, and the chart says how many.
Price Range DistributionBy its latest price: under ₹500, ₹500–₹1,000, ₹1,000–₹2,000, ₹2,000–₹5,000, over ₹5,000. A price on a boundary goes in the higher band, so ₹500 is in ₹500–₹1,000. Products with no price are left out.
Other Sellers CountBy the number of other sellers on its listing: 0, 1, 2–5, 6–10 or more than 10. Listings with no seller count are left out.

A bar's percentage is its share of the products the chart places, not of Total Products. Each is rounded to a whole percent, so a chart's bars can add up to 99% or 101%.

Recent changes

Two panels list the changes recorded in the period, the product with the most Units Ordered first and the newest change first within it: Own Listings for your products and Competitor Listings for the competitors mapped to them. A tab for each kind counts its changes, and All is their total.

The Recent Changes panels, drawn with sample data.

  1. A tab for each kind of change, with its count.
  2. What changed, with the values before and after.
  3. When the reading that recorded it was taken.
KindRecorded when a reading, against the product's previous reading,
Pricehas a different price. The line gives both prices and the change in %.
Stockhas different availability text.
Images & Videoshas more or fewer images, more or fewer videos, different pictures in place of old ones, or a different main image. Pictures are compared by their own id, so the same picture at another size or address is not a change, and neither is a new order of the same pictures.
Titlehas a different title.
Bullet Pointshas bullet points with different wording. The line says how many there were and are, and how many were added, removed or reworded; Show wording lists them. Spacing, letter case and a new order are not changes.
Sellershas a different number of other sellers, or a different Buy Box seller.
Buy Boxhas a different listing status: your Buy Box, a competitor's, suppressed, or unavailable.
Rating/Reviewshas a different rating or review count; each is a line of its own.
Dealsshows a deal that was not there, a different one, or none where there was one.
Best Sellergained or lost the Best Seller badge. Both readings must have found the product available: an unavailable reading shows no badges, so going out of stock is not losing one.
Amazon's Choicegained or lost the Amazon's Choice badge, on the same terms.
BSR Improved > 20%has a rank number more than 20% lower in the same category.
BSR Worsened > 20%has a rank number more than 20% higher in the same category.
BSR move % = (new rank − old rank) ÷ old rank × 100
  • Both ranks are in one category: the main category when both readings carry it, else the first one they share. Readings that share no category are not compared.
  • A move of 20% or less either way is ordinary day-to-day noise and is not listed.

Example: A rank change

  1. The main rank went from #1,250 to #950.
  2. (950 − 1,250) ÷ 1,250 × 100 = −24

Listed under BSR Improved > 20%: "BSR improved by −24% (1,250 → 950)".

A product's first ever reading is not a change: it only says the product was read, so nothing is listed for it.

Product tabs and Buy Box %

The table at the foot of the page lists products in seven tabs. Each opens on Units Ordered, highest first; products with the same units keep the tab's own order:

TabListsThen
Product Listevery productmost recently read first
Price Changesproducts whose price moved in the periodlargest move first, up or down
Stock AlertsLow Stock and Unavailable productsunavailable first
Rating & Reviewsproducts whose rating or reviews movedlargest review change first
Buy Boxproducts with a Buy Box %lowest first
Competitorsthe competitors mapped to your productsmost changes first
Content Changesproducts with image, title or bullet point changesmost changes first
Buy Box % = Own ÷ (Own + Lost) × 100
  • Own: the period's readings that say "Own Buy Box".
  • Lost: readings that name a competitor's Buy Box, a suppressed Buy Box, or "Out of stock".
  • Rounded to a whole percent.

Example: A week of readings

  1. 14 readings: 9 say Own Buy Box, 3 name a competitor's, 2 say only "Active — Buy Box".
  2. 9 ÷ (9 + 3) × 100 = 75

Buy Box 75%. The two readings that named no seller are left out.

A monitoring job can only tell whose Buy Box it is when it carries your seller name. Readings that just say "Active — Buy Box" settle nothing and count on neither side; a product with no reading that settles it has no Buy Box %.

Good to know

  • Readings come from the monitoring jobs of your active workspace.
  • Every ASIN on the page links to Product Analysis, with buttons to copy it, open it on Amazon and open its history.
  • Monitored Products, the highlighted button in the header, is the same data one row per product.
